You didn’t think that a Disney Blogger would be able to resist posting about Walt Disney World did you? Surely not. I’m going to tell you about a secret spot inside of the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. This is an out-of-the-way place that not many people visit while on vacation. It’s the Garden View Tea Room.
The Garden View Tea Room is located in Walt Disney World’s Flagship Resort, the Grand Floridian, which is located on the Magic Kingdom Monorail Loop. There is free parking available at the resort, just tell the cast member at the guard shack that you are going for tea. You will then be directed to go past the vallet stand and park across the street. There is limited handicapped parking available in the parking lot closest to the resort but all other parking, except vallet, is located in a lot across the street.

Reservations are a must! You can make an advanced dining reservation by calling 407-WDW-DINE. They take walk-ins, but we have had a problem getting in without a reservation. The room is fairly small and can not accommodate too many guests at once.
The Grand Floridian is a Deluxe Resort, which is apparent from the minute you step foot on the property. The Tea Room is located to the rear of the lobby. On your walk to the lounge, take care in noticing all of the special details. At the entrance to the tea room, marble tile depicting Chip and Mrs. Potts greet you.

The lounge is beautifully decorated and each seating area is unique. There are various seating arrangements which include chairs, couches, round tables, and banquette seating areas along the walls.

The China service is exquisite and complements the experience.

Items can be ordered a la carte or you may indulge in a custom tailored Tea Offering which will arrive in different courses with your desired pot of tea. The favorite amongst my group is the “Buckingham Palace” which provides you with five different tea sandwiches, and onion tartlet, scones with Devonshire Cream, a jam tartlet, and your choice of two freshly baked pastries or fresh strawberries and cream. ($19.50 per person) This could really serve as a late lunch or early dinner as the lounge is open daily from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There is even a tea service for the little ones that includes kid-friendly sandwiches, magical dark tea (chocolate milk), and pastries, so don’t hesitate to bring the kids along for this experience. Of course there are also adult beverages available as well.
The scenery from the Tea Room is breathtaking and includes views of the rose gardens and Seven Seas Lagoon.

This is truly an elegant experience and one not to be missed.
