It’s not easy finding organic clothing or toys in a store anywhere. And you definitely don’t think about buying organic at a theme park. So I was really surprised to find quite an assortment of organic goodies at gift shops throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.
The most extensive selection of organic items comes in the T-shirt department. There’s plenty of styles to choose from, and they can easily be found in many Disney gift shops – I found them at the World of Disney at the Downtown Disney Marketplace, at a gift shop inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort and at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
What I was most surprised to find, though, was something that I didn’t even know existed – organic cotton Mickey Mouse plush toys. The colors are more muted than the traditional Mickey Mouse plushes, but it’s kind of interesting to see a new, updated twist to the classic American toy.
Reusable bags can be found in many locations, whether you decide to use one on vacation or bring one home for grocery shopping.
And I even found reusable lunch bags, notepads made of eco-friendly paper, writing utensils, and more.
The largest selection that I found was at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where the gift shop in the Africa section had plenty of organic tees, as well as T-shirts that supported the World Wildlife Fund and T-shirts that supported peace initiatives.
I’m always pleasantly surprised when I find eco-friendly items in major stores, but finding organic products at the Walt Disney World Resort was really surprising. I hope that more and more products are introduced in the future. Now, how about some organic Chip and Dale items……?!?
