• Until next time…

As the end of our vacation draws near, we can look back on some magical times.  This time around we revisited some of our favourite places and discovered a few new ones as well.

Kissimmee is the heart of Florida but it is the centre of our vacation as well.  Being located in the middle of just about everything the area has to offer has enabled us to make the most of our time here.

We’ve done the ‘big stuff’ and revisited some of our favourite theme parks including Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure.  We’ve splashed around at Seaworld’s Aquatica water park too.

We’ve enjoyed a few new things such as boating on the lake at Downtown Disney, and our adult night out drinking cocktails in the warm night air.  We spent our first 4th July here and celebrated with the locals of St Cloud.

We’ve shopped ’til we dropped, me included this time (although it was for some new golf gear).  But we took in most of the major shopping areas including the Florida Mall, Prime and Premium Outlets, Festival Bay, and also the Flea Markets, strip malls and specialist outlets.

Food does seem to be a big part of American culture and eating out in particular.  We’ve tried everything from fast food, to take-out, budget meals to the more expensive.  We’ve eaten around the world by sampling Latin, Mexican, Italian, Indian, Chinese and probably a few others I have missed out.  Of course I can’t raise the topic of food without mentioning my Five Guys Burger!

We still have a few days left so we plan another water park visit, a round of golf, a final visit to the shops, another trip downtown in Kissimmee, another boat trip and hopefully a spot of fishing.

But the most important part of our holiday has been that we have spent so much time together as a family.  Our kids in particular have had the best time ever, even although this is their eighth visit!  Once again we know there are still so many more things that we want to do and places we want to see.

We keep coming back to Kissimmee because we simply cannot find all of this in one place anywhere else in the world.

If you haven’t been to Kissimmee before but are thinking about visiting, or if you want to rekindle your love for the area, I would encourage you to get booking today.
