• Rent a Vacation Home for Space, Sanity, and Sleep

Staying in a vacation rental home for the last leg of our Kissimmee adventures gave my family room to spread out, play together, eat a few meals without worrying about disturbing other diners, and enjoy some restful sleep.

    Family Space
The first thing I said when we walked into our spacious, four-bedroom, four-bath Global Resorts Home was, “Wow!” I couldn’t believe all 1,800 square feet were for us! The décor looked like something you’d find in a model home, with dark wood tables in the kitchen and dining room, two leather sofas, five televisions, and ornate mirrors adorning the walls.

    Private Pool
Our home even came with its own private pool and hot tub! You can pay an extra fee ($25) to ensure both are heated before you arrive, which is especially handy during winter months. While we didn’t get a chance to take a dip in the pool, my husband and daughter splashed in the spa one day while my son napped and I worked on an i.seeKissimmee post. That daddy-daughter bonding time was one of my little girl’s favorite memories from the trip!

    Game Room
The game room in our vacation home’s garage was, by far, my nearly three-year-old son’s favorite aspect of this house! With an air hockey game, pool table, rocking horse, television, and a bucket of Lincoln Logs, we had a hard time prying him away from all of this fun at bedtime! There was also a Playstation system for older kids. On a rainy day, I caught up on vacation-time laundry using the full-size washing machine and dryer also located in the garage while the kids happily played with all of these goodies.

    Dining In
The kitchen was outfitted with a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pots and pans, and even a blender for tropical drinks or milk shakes! While I love dining out while on vacation, it was a nice break to order pizza one night during our stay here. Plus, stocking the fridge with a few breakfast and snack essentials saves money and time while away from home. If we had stayed for a week or so here, surely we would have taken advantage of this space by making a pancake breakfast or other home cooked meals.

    Gear Rentals
For our stay, we were able to obtain bed rails from Global Resort Homes to keep my little guy from rolling onto the floor in his sleep. Other rentable items include a travel crib, full-size crib, strollers, and more.

Pick the Home that’s Right for You
Although wonderful, this was really more space than we needed, especially since our kids like sleeping in the same room when on vacation. The two twin beds in their temporary bedroom was a great fit.

While we stayed at the Windsor Hills location, Global Resort Homes has several properties in the area to choose from. You can reserve a two-bedroom condo, an expansive home with seven bedrooms that can sleep 14, and everything in between! Typically, you must book at least five nights through Global Resort Homes.

It’s fun to peruse photos and home options through the Global Resort Homes website. My family is already dreaming about which condo or home we might rent for our next Kissimmee visit!

Disclosure: As a travel writer, my family received our two-night stay at the Windsor Hills property for free through Global Resort Homes. I always provide my honest opinion, no matter who pays!

The vacation homes are the only way to go! We started out years ago staying in them, and ended up buying our own house! Having your own pool & spa is wonderful!

Did you need a car to get around while staying here or do people who stay here plan to stay on site all day? Are there activities neaby that guests walk to?
