• The New AMC 24 Downtown Disney Fork & Screen Movie Theaters

This may be new to the Kissimmee-area, but it’s not necessarily new to Americans and our history of eating while watching movies. Eating a meal used to be dedicated to drive-ins, but now it’s regular movie theaters where you can buy an entire dinner to eat while you watch the latest thriller. The AMC 24 Downtown Disney Theatres recently renovated several theaters at their location to include Dine In options at what they call Fork and Screen.

AMC Downtown Disney 24 Theatres are already some of the nicest, cleanest movie theaters in the Kissimmee area, but now that they’ve added the experience of having a meal while watching a movie, it’s a whole other level of nice. We recently took a trip down to the theaters to check out what the Fork and Screen movie-going experience would be like with our kids, and to be honest, we loved it. The price of the movie ticket is $2 more than a regularly-priced ticket, but for the extra legroom, wider seats, and personal chair-side wait staff is worth it. We liked the selection of food they offered on the menu, though it may be a dollar or so more than you’d find at a typical restaurant, the food was good and came right to our table.

If you bring your meal with you to your seat at non-Fork and Screen theaters, you have to balance the hot dog, popcorn, and soda all on your lap. The beauty of the Fork and Screen theaters is the table right in front of your seat. Extra-wide seats are divided into rows of 4 with mini tables stretching out in front of you and your rowmates. Subtle lighting at the table allows for you to watch the movie without distraction and also see the food you’re eating. Because of the table in front of your seat, the people sitting in the row in front of you are that much farther down the aisle, so you don’t have to worry about looking around heads to see the screen.

Try it out while you’re here in town if there’s a movie you wanted to see. Or don’t because you’ll want to always go to a Fork and Screen theater and your town doesn’t have one. You’ll forever be jealous.

I have already tried out the Fork and Screen theatres in Kissimmee on 3 separate occasions. I absolutely love it. I am getting spoiled. I don’t want to go to the movie any other way.

And if you are a Stubs card member, you can earn cash back on every $100 spent on dinner, drinks, and tickets. I put this off because there is a fee to start it. However, after my 3rd dine-in movie, I realized the card would have paid for itself. Lesson learned.

We definitely go every time we go into town… We thought the menu would be of low quality, but since our first visit I have to say that their food is good and their margaritas fantastic!! It’s a little pricey, but not outrageous… My husband and I have made it a fun date!!
