It seems fitting that we woke up this morning to find it raining outside. It was only a slight drizzle, but it mimicked my feelings about going home. I was in a mood because I really didn’t want to leave. I’ve loved just about everything about this vacation, even though I’m tired from all the walking we did. I’ve loved everything about this wonderful vacation home and I’m annoyed that I have to leave the pool and hot tub. As I sit at Orlando International Airport writing this, I’m even more annoyed that my boarding time is getting closer and that I’m going to have to leave the 80 degree temperatures for the lovely 47 degrees that it currently is in southeastern Michigan. Have I mentioned that I’m annoyed?
Seriously though, this has been one of the best family vacations we’ve ever taken. Joe and I discussed it and we are hard pressed to come up with a better example. Everyone in our family had a great time and each person has their own special memories they are taking home with them. If you ask my Dad, he’ll tell you that he’s going to miss the hot tub the most. If you ask my Mom, she’ll tell you that she loved the Animal Kingdom and the Kali River Rapids ride. My brother-in-law loved Space Mountain and thought feeding the sea lions at SeaWorld was a blast. And my boys – well they can’t figure out what their favorite thing was, and that is the most telling thing of all to me. This is how I know they really had a fantastic vacation. They are sitting in the boarding area with me and both have their stuffed Shamu’s out. And even though they are so tired, they are still so excited about everything they experienced. John has been talking non-stop about the Haunted Mansion, and James, like his uncle, loved the sea lions.
At the beginning of this trip I thought it would be many years before we would make a return visit, but now I know that I will have to figure out a way to get us back sooner. Next time we will swim with the dolphins and the boys will learn how to surf. And while goodbye is the hardest word to say, we just need to remember that it is only goodbye until we can visit again. Hopefully we’ll have similar perfect weather and awesome experiences our second time around. It’s been wonderful visiting and thank you for reading what I’ve had to say. I hope that I was able to help you in some way with your future trip. I know that you will have a wonderful time just like my family did!
Farewell For Now,
Laura…
