After ziplining, we built up an appetite. My sister, Cathy, who was driving asked me to look up on my Yelp iPhone app for a good restaurant in Downtown Kissimmee. We had passed a big signed that said Downtown Kissimmee on the way there. I found this restaurant called Chef John’s Dockside Inn. It had rave reviews so we were really wanted to go there.
Most of the tips and reviews in the Yelp app mentioned the blackened grouper. I ordered the blackened grouper with linguine. The flavor was amazing.
The grouper was incredibly fresh and the pasta sauce just perfect, not too heavy. The blackened seasoning was perfect too. I loved the addition of perfectly cooked haricot vert (small green beans) to the dish. They were crispy and not soggy, just perfect!
My sisters both ordered the blackened grouper sandwich and they loved it! They both weren’t crazy about the idea of tomato on their sandwich and asked for red onions instead. It turned out awesome that way for them! The fries were cooked perfectly and the only thing they weren’t too crazy about was the orzo pasta salad.
As we were nomming and as I was not able to get over how good the food was, the chef came out to say hi to us and ask us how everything was. My sister and Chef John realized they knew each other! They actually used to work together at a couple of restaurants, some years back when my sister was attending college. What a small world! He brought out his wife, Carmen, who used to work with them too!
A small little restaurant in quaint Downtown Kissimmee, this place is a gem and if you’re a seafood lover, this place is not to be missed. I have to return with my husband to this place!

Blogger Malise Terrell will visit Kissimmee next week! Want to share your Kissimmee story?
