I admit it: a bit of pampering now and then makes me happy.
And so, when the opportunity came to bid on a gift certificate to Vamp Hair Studio at the Red Chair Affair, hosted by the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Central Florida each year, I snatched it up.
This week seemed like the perfect opportunity to visit the salon.
Located in downtown Orlando’s Thornton Park neighborhood, the spot is cozy and welcoming. Stylist Rebekah Futrell sat me down and immediately offered me a drink. (After a busy week, I was craving water far more than wine.) She understood exactly the type of cut I wanted, and set to work giving my hair a pick-me-up glaze, relaxing shampoo and the perfect “I’m growing my hair out but still want to look respectable” cut. She was efficient and incredibly personable, and helped me with tips on how to maintain my look in the future.
