I love going to amusement parks with my toddlers. I am able to enjoy places that I have visited a million times with a fresh set of eyes. They point out things that I otherwise would not have seen, and have me take the time to slow down and enjoy myself. Everyone who has ever walked side by side with a toddler knows that s-l-o-w can be very, very slow when they are interested in a leaf, bug, stick, sign or even the wind. It really helps my enjoyment level when I view the world through their eyes. So, here is a collection from our visit today at SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida, through my toddlers’ eyes.
My kids are amazed by fish. Every time we pass a pond, lake or body of water we have to stop to see the fish. When we pass a fish tank it is a definite stopping point. The Shark Encounter at SeaWorld was one of the first places we beelined too. On the way in we stopped to look at all the fish in the tanks, spending a good 20 minutes or so before we even made it to the attraction. Jakobi, my son wanted to count the fish and Mason wanted to chase them. When we let them up on the ledge, they were overjoyed!!
We learned about the scary Barracuda. They followed Jakobi and I from side to side of the tank. Talk about freaky! It was a lot of fun, so we acted scared for the picture. If you look really close, you can see the fish smile! Then we came to the SHARKS!
Of course, Jakobi jumped right in! Look how little his peanut head is inside the massive jaws of the shark! I love how they show you how huge a shark is right before you enter the Shark Encounter tunnel.
The kids loved it so much, this will be one of our first stops when we return tomorrow. Oh yes! SeaWorld Orlando has so much to offer, we need to go a few times to soak it all in. Stay tuned for more fun with toddlers on the Medeiros’ family Kissimmee vacation!
