We are huge Orlando Magic fans. Our Staycation would NOT be complete without a night at the Amway Center in downtown Orlando cheering for our home team. Tonight, we watched the Magic take on the Indiana Pacers and we left with the victory (and a little hoarse)! Even our little Magic fan gets into the game, he always wears his J.J. Redick jersey to cheer on his favorite player.
From the fan interaction pre-game show on Church Street, Stuff’s Magic Castle (an indoor play area for kids over 2 years old and under 48”), having photographs with the Orlando Magic Dancers, trying to catch a t-shirt, being teased by Stuff (our dragon mascot), to singing karaoke on the jumbo-tron you will thrive on the energy inside the arena.
Orlando Magic Fan Fest on Church street begins two hours prior to each Orlando Magic home game. This takes place directly in front of the Amway Center, so you cannot miss it. Fans can enjoy live music, prizes, giveaways and interactive games. Amway Center typically opens an hour before game time and I recommend arriving early to experience the fun outside and for amazing photo opportunities. Also, there are delicious eateries inside the arena, so take advantage while there. Visit the Gentleman Jack Terrace to see the beautiful Orlando skyline and snap a photo or two!
The Nutrilite Magic Fan Experience is an interactive area that features a journey through the players and moments that bring the history of the Magic to life. Biographies, timelines and personal narratives take you through Magical moments of the past. This fan experience is located on the east side of the Terrace Level. Also, pre-game dancers sign autographs and take photographs in this area.
We spend a lot of time inside Stuff’s Magic Castle and here’s a season ticket holder secret, if you let your child play before the game Stuff sometimes makes an appearance! We have captured some amazing photographs pre-game inside the play area. Also, parking can be crazy busy and expensive. We recommend parking for free in the city and walking a few blocks, otherwise the garages cost up to $20!
Pack your camera and get ready for some fun as you cheer for the Magic! Even if you are not a NBA fan, the experience at the Amway Center is unbelievable. I guarantee you will leave liking basketball a little more!
