Sometimes a cigar is just a smoke

Sometimes a cigar is just a smoke

Though some women enjoy the smoking of a fine hand-rolled cigar, it remains mainly a manly pursuit. And when you are staying in Kissimmee, you need not stray far to find a place where the lover of a fine stogie can settle in a comfortable leather-clad chair and light up his favorite stick.

99 bottles of beer, but not at one sitting

99 bottles of beer, but not at one sitting

When faced with a list of 99 bottles of beer, what do you do? In my case, I started with one not on the list — and it came in a can. The Celebration Town Tavern in Celebration, Florida offers such a list, and even better you can win prizes for drinking your way through [...]

Celebration Town Tavern: For New England Seafood in Central Florida

Celebration Town Tavern: For New England Seafood in Central Florida

A vacation cannot begin on an empty stomach. No matter where we’re going or when we arrive, one of the very first things my husband and I do when get there is eat. Our whirlwind tour of the Kissimmee area was no exception.  Although technically checked in to our hotel, we still had our luggage [...]

    Archie Visits Woof Gang Bakery

    Archie Visits Woof Gang Bakery

Owners of spoiled dogs (I am guilty) love pet boutiques. Dogs are always welcome and there are so many fun and colorful things to look at, such as designer collars, soft dog pets in bright colors and treats of every variety. I was excited when I found about Celebration‘s new dog boutique, Woof Gang Bakery [...]

    Traveling Solo in Kissimmee

On this visit to Kissimmee, I traveled most of this trip solo. This was a new experience for me, since I am used to having my husband and two preschoolers in tow! It was a great way for me to enjoy some of the fun things around Kissimmee for myself.

    Celebration; Town of many festivals

    Celebration; Town of many festivals

Celebration, Florida, the town that Disney built, is a peaceful break from the bright, flashing lights and sometime sensory overload of Kissimmee, 192 and the Orlando tourist area. Celebration was built in the style of the early 20th century, and while walking through the neighborhoods or its quaint, movie set downtown, you start to feel [...]

    Celebrating at Celebration Town Tavern

    Celebrating at Celebration Town Tavern

A full day at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, a refreshing dip in the pool at Royale Parc Suites, a round of complimentary beverages from the poolside Manager’s Reception, landed us smack in front of the television just in time for the opening tip-off of the NCAA Men’s Final Four.

Gliding Along on my Segway on 192 and Through Celebration

Gliding Along on my Segway on 192 and Through Celebration

Ever since I took the EPCOT Segway tour about two years ago, I fell in love with the Segway. Wherever I go, I always search to find if someone in that destination offers a Segway tour. While searching on the Internet, I was so excited to discover ZE Tours in Kissimmee. Taking a Segway tour through [...]

    Celebration; Walt’s legacy realized

The House that Disney Built. Or more to the point, the town. Said by many to be the realized version of Walt Disney’s EPCOT (Experimental Prototype City Of Tomorrow), Celebration is the town built by the Walt Disney Company, as a place where people can live, work and play.

    Le China and Mulligan’s Pub

Staying near the Main Gate of Disney? Making a visit to Celebration? Looking for a great pub or Chinese food in the area? Stop at Le China or Mulligan’s Pub in the Water Tower area at the entrance to Celebration. We found both on our first night here, after moving our things into our rented [...]

A Walk Through Celebration with Goliath

A Walk Through Celebration with Goliath

One of the reasons I was so excited to get a dog after moving to Celebration was to utilize the walking trails. These paved sidewalks all connect from neighborhood to neighborhood, taking walkers, runners, and bikers around the town’s ponds and giving a greater sense of the community.

    Celebration Town Tavern

    Celebration Town Tavern

Living in a town like Celebration can sometimes give you the feeling that you are living in a movie set. My friends like to compare my life here to the movies “Pleasantville” or “The Truman Show”, it all seems so perfectly placed and unreal. There is one place in town that I like to think [...]
