    A trip around the world

    A trip around the world

There’s a game a group of guys can play in the Kissimmee area. It’s not official. It’s not endorsed. It’s not promoted. But it’s a poorly kept secret. I’m going to whisper it, just once. Ready? *drinking around the world* If you’ve never visited the World Showcase at Epcot in Walt Disney World, you’re in [...]

  • Downtown Disney for the guys

    Downtown Disney for the guys

Walt Disney World caters to children and families, right? There’s nothing for a group of guys to do there, right? Wrong. Case in point: Downtown Disney. Sure, there are families and kids roaming the streets, playing in the Lego store, shopping for souvenirs or riding the little choo-choo train. But take a look around.

A sports junkie’s paradise at Disney

Sometimes the wide screen just doesn’t do it, and guys feel the need to see a live game. With more than more than 300 events a year encompassing 60 different sports and athletes from more than 70 countries, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World offers a great venue to catch [...]

    Learning the Force

    Learning the Force

One of my favorite parts of Hollywood Studios is the Star Wars set, where you can see a giant AT-AT walker, ride a mock space shuttle, and watch a team of young padawans battle Darth Vader. Although we couldn’t make time for the ride, because my son is a huge star wars fan, I couldn’t [...]

Say Goodbye to Hollywood, Say Goodbye to Disney

Say Goodbye to Hollywood, Say Goodbye to Disney

Well, we’ve officially completed the 4 day SeaWorld/Disney marathon, and boy was it a memorable experience. Although we’ll certainly remember the misery of walking 12 hours/day and being hotter than we’ve ever been, I can guarantee you it will be overshadowed by memories of our children smiling, of exhilerating roller coaster experiences, and of hilarious [...]

Around the World in 9 Hours at Epcot

Around the World in 9 Hours at Epcot

Our kids love Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, but Epcot is a parent’s dream. It’s usually less crowded, so there’s more room to meander around, the rides are much closer together, so there’s less walking, and the World Showcase is an awesome time for shopping, drinking, and eating.

There’s Magic in the Air at the Magic Kingdom

There’s Magic in the Air at the Magic Kingdom

Disney World is one of those places that reminds that you’re never quite “grown up” all the way and that sometimes, it’s fun to embrace it. After a great day at SeaWorld, we decided to dive headfirst into the Disney Experience, starting with the Magic Kingdom.

A Little Disney For A Lot Less Money

A Little Disney For A Lot Less Money

I have nothing against Disney.  At all.  In fact, I have come around to the idea that it may in fact be The Happiest Place On Earth. However, I am not The Richest Woman On Earth, and therefore have to limit my exposure to Disney according to my budgetary constraints.  But sometimes you need a [...]

Dip a toe in the water without getting wet

Dip a toe in the water without getting wet

I’ve always wanted to try boating but have always been a little apprehensive.  Perhaps I’ve seen too many episodes of home video shows where you see would-be-captains piloting their vessels right into the path of other boats. Well at Downtown Disney, there is a way that you can dip your toe in the water and give boating [...]

Try DisneyQuest for indoor summer fun at Disney World

Try DisneyQuest for indoor summer fun at Disney World

No, you will not find me searching out “fun things to do outside in the summertime in Florida” unless it involves some kind of water activity. So, finding fun activities and attractions that are indoors, away from the sun and rain, is one of my new obsessions. DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney has been around for [...]

LEGO Imagination Center is one of those stores your kids love and never want to leave.

And you have to drag them kicking and screaming out the door. But it’s also one of those places you have to drag your husband out of as he spends at least an hour revisiting his youth and wondering how he can get away with buying the Star Wars Death Star without having to file [...]

Raglan Road at Downtown Disney is a Must. Plus, There’s Meat Pie.

To be honest, when I think “Irish Pub,” Disney World does not immediately jump to mind. But it should. And now that I’ve told you that you should, make sure you stop by Raglan Road at Downtown Disney, the (as-close-to-) authentic Irish Pub at Disney World in Lake Buena Vista.
